Novanet AS is a senior consultancy specializing in architecture and development services. They have one of the strongest Microsoft .NET teams in Norway. Novanet needed a website that appears professional and modern, while remaining easy to navigate for both potential clients and future colleagues, clearly communicating the company’s expertise and values.
The Challenge
The client needed a website that feels professional while allowing users to easily navigate to the content they’re looking for. The existing site was perceived as heavy, dark, and boxy, so the goal was to create a lighter, more modern experience with a clear technological edge.
Innsight Phase
To better connect the company’s positioning with its visual identity, we chose to draw inspiration from .NET as a potential concept. Microsoft .NET is a platform known for structure and modularity, which evokes associations with various geometric forms.
Looking at their logo, we were inspired by the geometric shapes, resulting in a combination of a circle and a square.
The circle represents the senior consultants. Its organic, human touch makes it feel friendly and approachable. The square represents their competence and expertise. Rounded corners soften the impression, making it more appealing and less formal, while still conveying reliability and professionalism.
Together, they create a balanced and professional impression of a company that is both competent and human.
Colors
To better balance the color palette, we added an accent color. We used a triadic color scheme, selecting hues evenly distributed around the color wheel. The goal is to create a balanced, dynamic, and vibrant visual expression.
Yellow is a color that attracts attention and creates an inviting and engaging atmosphere, promoting positivity.
We focused on giving each color a defined role. The muted background colors can be used to highlight specific content, while the strong brand color can indicate a prioritized user task.
Typography
We saw an opportunity to introduce a headline font with strong geometric features, reflecting many of the same qualities found in their logo. The choice fell on Zilla Slab.
